An entrepreneur, a leader, and an experienced litigator
Aletha Smith is the founder and managing attorney of the Law Office of Aletha J. Smith, PC. She is an entrepreneur and has owned several small businesses. Prior to practicing law, Aletha worked in the wireless industry, where she led over 900 employees as a Director of Call Center Operations and an Interim Regional Vice President for a Fortune 500 company.
While in law school, Aletha was a member of the Moot Court Board, served as an SBA Supreme Court Judge, and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, Pickney Inn. She worked as a legal writing fellow, assisting first-year students with legal writing and oral argument, and served as a Grievance Hearing Officer for the Charleston Housing Authority in a governor-approved position.
After graduation, Aletha volunteered at the Orange County Legal Aid Clinic assisting low-income residents, then returned to the corporate world to help build a world-class multi-location call center from startup — before putting all of her talent into the practice of law. She honed her skills as a practitioner with a local law firm prior to opening her own firm, and is an experienced litigator.
